Aros Rapier and Sidesword Camp

The Shire of Aros in collaboration with Passo Primo Historical Fencing has the pleasure of inviting rapier and cut and thrust scholars of the Known World (but primarily Drachenwald) to celebrate the Arte of Defence with a weekend training camp in the grounds of Villa Haga, located just outside Uppsala, Sweden.

The event begins on Friday evening, the 22nd of August and concludes on Sunday afternoon the 24th of August at 17:00. The schedule will soon be available from the course web page.

Demonstrating that we are true "Renaissance People" attendees will provide entertainment for each other during the Feast on Saturday night. Entertainment have included songs, tales, demonstrations of archery as well as recitations of poetry and musical performances in past years. This is one of the highlights of the event, so start preparing your entertainment NOW!

Classes in various aspects of the Arte of Defence will be taught by Masters Arenwald and Timotheus, covering a range of techniques for both rapier and cut and thrust fencing.

The fee includes crash space indoors and all meals for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, snacks in the coffee breaks, and Renaissance Feast on the Saturday night.

Payment: Swedish attendants can pay to Bankgiro 5135-6905 (PassoPrimo). Please write your name and the event title in the text field of the form. Guests from abroad are welcome to pay at the door, but please make a booking to avoid the disapointment of being turned away.
Places: The course is limited to 20 residential places on a first come first served basis.
Accomodation: Indoor accomodation, 10 crash spaces, 10 beds (50 SEK surcharge)
Facilities: Large outdoor fencing area, sauna, jetty and bath-house. Shower facilities and hot water are limited, so use of the sauna and bath house by the lake is encouraged.
